About Dr. Omar El-Banhawy
Board-Certified Diplomate by The American Board of Periodontology and Dental Implant Surgery and considered one of the top Periodontists in Michigan.
Dr. El-Banhawy completed the advanced education in general dentistry program at the University of Maryland in Baltimore. He then moved on to postgraduate training in Periodontology and Implant dentistry in addition to obtaining a Masters of Biomedical Science degree, also from the University of Maryland School of Dentistry.
Dr. El-Banhawy is a Diplomate of the American Board of Periodontology, a Diplomate of the American Board of Oral Implantology/Implant dentistry and a Fellow and Diplomate of the International Congress of Oral Implantologists.
He has lectured nationally and internationally on the topics of periodontal microsurgery and immediately loaded “same day” dental implants.

Periodontists are experts in the diagnosis and treatment of all disorders and diseases of the supporting structures of the teeth, as well as periodontal medicine and dental implant tooth replacement systems. I specifically specialize in surgical periodontics, oral medicine, periodontal plastic surgery, bone augmentation procedures, and implantology.
Dr. El-Banhawy and his wife, who is also a dentist, live in West Bloomfield with their two boys and rescue cat. When not taking care of his patients, he enjoys spending time with his family and traveling.
